Bring to the interview a portfolio of 4 to 6 samples of your work (one should be a multi page project).

ASOSU Graphic Designer 2 positions available
The ASOSU Graphic designer is part of a Public Relations team consisting of a student director, 2 graphic designers and a web designer. Designers are typically responsible for creating and marketing promotional material for ASOSU campaigns and projects. A strong interest in getting involved with Student Government is a plus. Positions officially begin Summer 2008 (with modified hours) and beginning Fall 2008 will work 15-18 hours a week. For more information go to http://asosu.oregonstate.edu/staff/

Career Services 1 position available
Position starts summer 2007. The ideal candidate is a graphic design student who is interested in furthering their design skills and building their portfolio. Student needs to be an excellent communicator and able to create outreach materials. Projects typically include posters, flyers, newsletter, and brochures – some web skills are highly desirable. Being the only designer in the office, the person must be independent and self-motivated and work well with non-designers. They will be a member of a marketing team and carries out the team’s vision. Hours may change each term, averaging 8 – 12/week. Stipend will be provided each term.

Memorial Union/University Housing & Dining 2 positions available
Five designers work to promote events and services offered by the Memorial Union and University Housing & Dining Services. Designers work directly with clients to develop visual promotions, usually in the form of print and Web design (posters, table tents, newspaper ads, TV panels, over-sized documents, etc.). Workload and hours vary depending on projects, but typically students work 15 to 20 hours per week. On some projects, designers work collaboratively while there are other times that require more independent, self-motivated work with the ability to meet tight deadlines. It’s an incredibly vibrant and creative atmosphere with a spectacular view of the MU Quad and great equipment.

Printing & Mailing Services 1 position available
General position description: Printing & Mailing student support is a mix of graphic design, customer service, and production support. Expect 12-20 hrs a week per student employee with a possibility of additional hours in summer (to cover vacations, special projects, etc.)

OSU Athletics 4 positions available
Positions are open to OSU students who are interested in furthering their graphic design skills and building their portfolio. We are looking for individuals with a solid interest in sports and sport-related advertising, promotion, and publications. Designers will be responsible for recruitment packages for Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, and various Marketing and Publications design projects. Workload and hours varies with projects, averages around 10 hours a week plus one hour meeting per week with possibility of additional summer hours. Studio space is not provided. A stipend per term is provided for compensation.

OSU Libraries 1 position available
Position involves graphic design of websites and print materials. Design new websites and participate in the evolution of the current library website. Create a wide variety of print materials: brochures, posters, fliers, logos, bookplates, newspaper ads and more. To work with a variety of library staff, you must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be able to show good self-initiative. Flexible hours during 8-5:00; 10-20 hours per week, additional hours during term break.

RecSports (Dixon Recreation Center) 1 position available
This position will focus primarily on updating and maintaining the RecSports website, but will also have the opportunity to do some other design projects. Designers at RecSports are responsible for a wide variety of materials (ads, brochures, t-shirts, posters, flash videos, web etc.) related to RecSports programs and services. It's a fun, and supportive environment with many projects and some tight deadlines. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent time management skills are important for success. Workload is 10-20 hours a week.

Student Health Services 1 position available
The designer for this job must be detail oriented and an excellent communicator. Projects typically include brochures, posters, Barometer ads, conference materials and other publications. Some Web site and digital display work may also be included. The individual in this position should be independent and responsible and work well with non-designers. Daily contact with the manager/mentor, but input and feedback for projects come from various health professionals. Work is conducted on site. Hours are flexible according to student needs between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. M-F and average from 10-15 hours per week.
