Every college campus has a building that stands out above all other building on campus; however, Oregon State campus is unique because it has a building that represents so much more than just mere beauty. The Memorial Union is a special building because there is something about its magnitude and beauty that creates a spirit that flows greatly among all who enter the building.

Upon entering the Memorial Union, the architectural work of the building itself signifies the rich history that runs deep with its walls. The lounge is a sight for the eye, with its aged furniture, large windows, and beautiful artwork and amazing aura fills the air that transports time back to its founding days.

The faculty employed within the Memorial Union recognizes the uniqueness of the building, and pride themselves knowing that they hold a position within such a beautiful establishment. This spirit is also seen among the students for they realize how fortunate they are to have such a gorgeous building with deep history on the center of their campus. Over time, the Memorial Union has been able to adapt and accommodate to the needs of the present day. Nonetheless, the Memorial Union is able to keep its spirit alive.

After working in the Memorial Union for over three years, I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to work in such a place. As my time at Oregon State is winding down, I trust that the spirit of the Memorial Union will live on just has is has in the past, and that the generations to come will realize how special the Memorial Union and all its glory.
